my mother became a witness when i was five and i believed that every witness followed what was said at the meetings and the instructions given.
my naive belief carried on until maybe i was 10?
at the old conventions, volunteers would come early and pack fruit into net bags so that it could be sold at lunch.
One of my first realizations was that we don’t celebrate
birthdays, but anniversaries are okay. I realized that when I was like 5.
what a shame that the streets of san francisco has turned into a s hole.
i wonder why this is happening.
any ideas?
Its still expensive as heck to live there.
i just wanted to share my excitement.
for the first time in almost 30 years, i am not attending the memorial tonight.
instead, i am spending the evening at home, celebrating with a glass of scotch.
I’m in my 30’s and missed my first one.
some days ago i posted on another thread that if i ever did get a memorial invitation i would ask for more to give to friends and family but in reality i was going to use it as toilet paper.
the old lady was just too nice.. i honestly thought she was selling something but nope lo and behold she was a jw giving out memorial invitations.. as soon as i opened the door she hand it to me all the while saying i was invited as well as anyone else in my home to this "very special event" which was the celebration of christ's death.. so i played the role.
i looked over the invitation like a curious first timer and as i flipped to read the back i paused, looked up at her and said surprisingly "oh, you are those ... um, .... witnesses, jehovah's witnesses!
Way to go Tenacious! You treated her with respect and she stuck around and listened to you. Who knows?
does anyone know, do all of the society owned assembly halls in the us have bethelites assigned as caretakers or assembly hall overseers?.
There used to be a caretaker that actually lived at the Assembly
Hall in Coraopolis (near Pittsburgh). He wasn't a bethelite though. Sweet job, eh?
a married brother with multiple children turns in 10 hours of time per month.
a group of single brothers ranging in age from 13-16 turn in 10 hours per month.
the married brother works full-time.
I consider it a privilege NOT to pass mics or do sound.

Now you're getting it.

just stumbled across this record of a child abuse case in ohio which apparently went to the ohio supreme court:.
http://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/rod/docs/pdf/9/2016/2016-ohio-5462.pdf.
Interesting...I don't live too far from there.
